    Lil off subject......

Love the Hummer shot.....how long does it take for those Trumpeter Vines to bloom?
I planted one for the Wife last year and it grew like crazy but no flowers.

Hoping to attract Hummers with it so I plan to make a arch trellus for it this year. Just hope it puts out flowers!

BTW: Nothing wrong with the Dog shot....looks great to me!

Hey there, FINALLY! A question I can answer...

Trumpet Creeper/vine (Campsis radicans) typically will take one to two seasons to bloom. The first year(s) the vine will be mainly concerned with establishing a root sysytem that will be able to support the vigorous growth that can be expected out of this vine. Keep in mind that this will bloom on the "new wood" so you can trim it gong into the winter if it is getting a little unruly as it ages without a detrimental effect on the flowers. Also, the other common name of this is "Cow Itch" as some folks with sensitive skin can develop a rash if they come into contact with it.
