SmugMug is going to donate the prints

i send care packages to some units in the air force. one has requested pictures for them to put up in their hospital... specifically:

"anything with greenery & flowers, i.e. napa valley... anything to brighten up the walls! i was thinking pictures of the ocean as well."

if you guys have any of your photos that you dont mind sharing, i will download/purchase them and send them out. post in here and i will pick a few and send them over. please only post photos that you own the rights to, and dont mind sharing.

Are you sending them prints or digital files? I wonder if SM could help in we could order our prints shipped to the armed forces if you share with us the address. Can SM ship to active duty soldiers?

wlriv, it was your idea and you already have the address info. if you can do the coordination, I'll make sure it happens. PM me for more.

we've done similar stuff like this on other forums, and it always works best with a lead coordinator. if you want a thread to solicit "green" images, I'd be happy to sticky this one and have folks submit a link to their best, then you can just click and rack up one big order.

I'll look through everything els ei have at home tonight. I have tons and tons of stuff I have taken and never processed so could be stuff in there too. Theres also some bridge shots on the site there as well.

Not exactly what I had in mind, but even better!!! All I was suggesting was that we could all pay for and order our own images to be sent to the troops.

This is really great Smugmug!!!

I wish I had some that I thought were great from this... I'll keep digging.

How large of a file do you need?

About the largest I have on the net are 1024, long side.
Most of mine are 800 long side.

im thinking ill go no larger than 8x10 (and probably some 5x7's for good measure). from what i understand their hospiral 'rooms' are just tents with dividers and i think an 8x10 will be more than suffucent to spruce up a little bit.

good idea, and if there's lot of folks who want to post non-smuggy photos, I'll upload them from this thread and post them to a gallery.

otherwise, linkies are dead easy for everyone. you just have to post one, and riv just has to click on the cart (and I don't have to do anything in betwee, cut out the middleman).
