Anyone interested in a small chuckle?

I about a week ago I decided to run a test - what's the difference between printing "true" and "auto". So I put together an order of about 6 different images and printed each in both true and auto, swapping out the print finish as well (lustre, matt, & glossy), just to see what happens.

For the past couple of days, I've been wondering, "Where's the announcement e-mail saying the order has shipped?"

Well, I went back through my e-mail and discovered that I only placed the order 5 days ago! Seeing that, I'm not so surprised that I haven't seen anything.

This is like the approach to Christmas - I'm finding it hard to wait! Time sure crawls when you want it to move fast!

I know what you mean! I ordered some prints for my grandmother as a Christmas present, but I couldn't wait for them to get here so I could see what they looked like! :)

However, another thing to think about is whether or not you have proof delay on your images. If you do, they'll delay even though YOU ordered them, unless you ask the wonderful help desk people to press the "ship" button for you. (That's what I did rolleyes1.gif ...oops!)

I hope you love 'em when they arrive!

Want a big chuckle.. I often print from another source outside of SM and I get my order 2 day UPS... free shipping...
Now I love SM and all it offers... but the time lag on shipping is crazy...

You know? If I had just done a little reading, I would have seen this:
Sixth tip: If you order from your OWN proof delay gallery, the proof delay is STILL in effect but since there's no profit on the order, you cannot see or hit the ship it button. Avoid delay by changing proof days to 0 before placing the order.

How do they stay profitable if they give free ~$10 + shipping on each order? We get lots of orders for just a couple of prints that are less than $10 orders. headscratch.gif

It's nice to find free shipping online, but I always think that you can't just hand out free shipping and be profitable without increasing your revenue somewhere along the line... increased print prices, ads, etc.

    I re-did a bit of reading...
#1 they do have a min. order of $12 (which I guess messes w/ my idea as small orders get me into issues)
#2 their per print cost is a bit higher.
But I did do a comparison on a few recent orders I needed to place. The free shipping off set the slightly higher cost and the cost difference for the order was basically a wash... the deciding factor... I got their prints in 2 days once the order was placed.
(My comparison used their free shipping and your closest comparible shipping time.)
Solution... maybe free 2 day shipping on orders over $12.00???
That's $12.00 based on my cost, not the customer's cost or course...
