more photos of my son! :D I got the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro off e-bay this week and so far I love it! It is so sharp, even wide open! I wanted to shoot some Valentine shots for the grandparents today, and got this group...

2, 3, 5 get my vote! I'm just glad I can vote on more than one. Love how you were able to throw the background OOF. Nicely done! These are some very special shots and grandma is sure to be very pleased.

    Nice job Elaine!
All very nice...great exposure, color, lighting and comp...not to mention your subject is cooperating rolleyes1.gifI see there is a bit of catchlight in his eyes meaning some flash fill. Do you remember the settings and how you used the flash? I enjoy messing around with lighting. Again...very nice job.

Very nice results - love the DOF effect and sharpness. Well done!:ivar

(I've got an old Tamaron that I love for my 35mm Minolta - 85mm that produced shots much like that.)

Chris, Jerry, Scott...thanks so much! thumb.gif

Skippy...congrats on your own new lens! Thanks a bunch!

Swartzy...Yeah! You noticed my fill flash! I don't have an external flash yet, but the on-camera flash seemed to do the job here. My camera settings were: ISO 100, aperture priority f/2.8, 1/125 (what the camera jumps to when I pull up the flash), -1/3 exp, and when I used flash, it was either dialed down -1 or -1 2/3. I was just wanting it to fill in some shadows around the eyes and provide a catchlight. My white balance was set to "daylight", although I think I may start carrying something white around with me so I can custom set it, even when there isn't something white for me to use in the current setting.

In post with PSE 5, I kinda did the auto adjust color curves thing, adjusted levels (deepened colors and contrast), lowered brightness if necessary, adjusted color for skin tones a bit (warmed them up), and a bit of USM.

    Thanks again, everyone!
