funny photoshop message

bought me a new cannon scanner and had to try it on a 20 dollar bill well i transfered over to ps and i got the cannot print currency message thats some pretty smart software there folks

Built-in, unadvertised OCR (optical character recognition) in the scanner. This has actually been around for a while, but it's still funny when it happens.

I worked at a copy shop in my college days, and the Canon color copiers had currency recognition that would spit out a black copy if it thought you were copying currency. It would also activate an internal counter with the idea that the tech would call the feds if it showed you were copying currency. The problem is that it would have false recognitions all the time, usually when you try to copy something with the right shade of green.
