This was my first rodeo in about 20 years and my first attempt to photograph the proceedings. Here are a few shots and a link to the gallery so far.

Nice action in these colors look great
    Really like the 4th picture
What lens was used , if you could have stopped down to 4 or below could have made less distracting backgrounds

    Thanks for sharing, Mark

    Wow Tassie!

These are great, especially for your first time. clap.gifthumb.gif Was this your first time watching a rodeo too? I have kinda mixed feelings about them as I ride horses and I know what SOME rodeo animals go through. However for every poorly run rodeo there's one well run rodeo too. These animals look good.

    Nicely shot!

    Thanks Mark,

I was using the Sigma 50-500 F4-6.3, the only way to stop down to F4 would have been to shoot at 50mm :D and that would have meant getting closer than my comfort zone (or personal insurance) would have allowed.

    Thanks Christina,

Not the first time watching, but was my first attendance at a rodeo for 20+ years ;). From what I saw yesterday the animals were all well treated with no signs of abuse etc. It is a pity when you here the stories from some rodeos.
