wide angle/fisheye/superwide angle

Well, I'm still having a battle with myself for what lens I want to buy. I love the look of pictures taken with fisheye lenses but does anyone know if there are 58mm thread fisheyes because I don't think Sony makes one for my 717. Super wide angles are nice aswell but I don't think Sony makes one for my camera either. I know there are wide angles for my 717, but pictures I've seen just give a wider view with no curves to the picture. I actually like the pictures with curves around the edges and for skateboarding pictures (my main thing to do) the effect would look amazing. But since I don't know for sure, I'm stuck in the middle so basically a super wide angle is what I might go for. I would really like comments, flames, suggestions, advice, anything you throw at me. Thanks.
EDIT: I have a job now, part time obviously, but money is no longer an issue for the lens. I don't want to spend $1000 that's for sure, but a few hundred is no big deal because I don't have any other expenses.

If i was to look at it from an arty sort of thing then yep i would love it but i think i would miss some other great shots whilst it was on. Its a very purpose built item.
Thats stating the obvious isnt it :bash
If i was shooting skaters i would really look at some fast shutter speed stuff but maybe you have done all that & are looking for something different.

Here's an example of a 15mm on a 10d.
Not a fisheye for sure. But wide. Wide is good.
Here's a fisheye view taken with a Nikon CoolPix 950 with the screw
on lens.
Yes, there are few instances where the fisheye can be used. Finding where
and how is a part of the fun.
