Still no love for the portrait?

Seems odd that there is still no love for the portrait given the vast number of shots that are in this aspect. Unless I'm missing something the only way to display an image with a height greater than 600 px is to allow originals. This sucks because there is no way in hell I want to do that. Especially for pro users this is really an unfair limitation on the display of a large number of images. Could the Large size be altered to allow 800 px in height? I know this might cause some folks to have to (god forbid) scroll but shouldn't we at least be able to choose that? Maybe the answer is in an optional XL size image that could bump out to 1000 px? </end rant>

Rant away :D we've heard you guys, and SmugMug XL is something we are working on. Your patience is appreciate while we work hard to provide new features <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/thumb.gif" border="0" alt="" >

BTW, it's well known that many folks won't scroll. We have the benefit of large user studies - and have seen that in spades. But we are a company that aims to allow lots of options, and XL is something we want very much to do!

Andy quick question on the 'wont scroll' thing. is your research saying then that if someone opens a page say in smugmug style and the image on the right is portrait and not fully showing that the user will not scroll down?

Yes, that's why the current portrait medium is 600px, not 800.

We hope to have 800 back!

Single image Large is always available :D
