It *is* possible to generate images that include a color profile and display properly and identically across Safari, Firefox, Camino, and Windows machines.
I'm a little bit confused about the Windows part of this. My understanding from conversations here is that Windows machines assume sRGB for images with no embedded profile. If that is true, how can these images look proper on Windows machines?
On Windows, wouldn't you get: image -> assume sRGB -> some output profile? Contrast this with the Mac: image -> assume nothing (or some generic RGB) -> some output profile.
It's clear you can convert images and remove the profile to look right on Safari. What's unclear to me is how this can be made consistent with Windows browsers that assume sRGB and ignore embedded profiles.

I am clearly interested.
