Shots on Goal

It was a busy afternoon in the nets for both goalies as the Atlanta Fire and Team Carolina Pee Wee Major squads went head to head.

The dim incandescent lighting offered the usual challenges, but the action on the ice made it worth the effort.

Nice photos, Kent. That ISO 3200 really comes in handy in a dim situation like that.

Very nice, especially the first. You ever try cropping them?

Those have all been cropped. Typically, when I'm asked that question, I find that it's a suggestion that the shot could be cropped tighter to focus on some element of the action; and I'm okay with those kinds of suggestions. thumb.gif

I've learned that one man's crop, is another man's poison. :D

OK, here's what I was thinking. You have a great moment with the goalie, the shooter and the puck.

And maybe a little tighter to emphasize the moment of fear?

I know I'd be having a moment of fear with a rock-hard, frozen hockey puck hurdling at me like that. :eek1

I don't have a problem with either of your crops. It just goes to show how we see the same scene differently.

The reason that I cropped the first one as I did was to show how the shooter guided the puck between the goalie and the defenseman.

Personally, I prefer seeing a little more of the shooter in the second shot. (And so would his mother, who might just buy a print if she does!) mwink.gif

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
