Direct link to slideshow in a gallery description

Dear all

I would like to be able to directly link to a slideshow in one of our galleries and I see that is quite possible by changing the default template ID e.g.

http://miseast.smugmug.com/homepage/templatechange.mg?TemplateID=8&origin=http://miseast.smugmug.com/gallery/2317852

This works nicely but it also leaves the gallery in the slideshow style. I would like visitors to be able to switch it back to the regular style by changing the template ID to 3 using the same technique as above (or any techique for that matter). It seemed like it should be simple enough just to embed the two html links in the description of the gallery so folks can pick what they want but the link seems to get garbled (take a look at http://miseast.smugmug.com/gallery/2317852 to see what I mean - I've left the garbled link in the description).

Has anyone tried anything similar or recognises the problem? Changing the ampersand to '& ' doesn't help either. I suspect there is something very trivial that I have missed.

tx to all

Richard

In December 2006 Mission East made a trip to the Karnali region of Nepal to see what help they could provide to the villages there. These are some of the photos from the assessment and you can read more about why we made the trip <a target="_top" href="http://www.miseast.org/sw5576.asp">here</a> or <a target="_top" href="http://miseast.smugmug.com/gallery/2317953">view some of the photos of the journey to reach Karnali</a>.

    View as a <a target="_top" href="http://miseast.smugmug.com/homepage/templatechange.mg?TemplateID=3&origin=http://miseast.smugmug.com/gallery/2317852">slideshow</a>

Question, why not just enable the style picker? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ear.gif&quot; border="0" alt="" >

Ahhhh... I turned it off when I started as I thought I was turning off the theme (which I didn't want people to change). Having turned it back on I think I might be tempted to leave it on as it is nice.

I'll leave the duff html in for a bit now so people can see what this thread is about but then I'll pull it.

    Thanks again :D

ps. If anyone know the answer to the HTML question I am still interested <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/headscratch.gif&quot; border="0" alt="" >

Just remembered why I switched it off. It then stays in that mode for all of the galleries and I didn't really want that. Some of the galleries were in the form of stories and then the slideshow or even journal were appropriate. For the rest they were just collections of photos and I prefered the default to be the standard smugmug style.

Too many options :D - I'll see if anyone can see the problem with my link but I may just leave the stylepicker up if not as I quite like it.

    tx
