For some reason, sometimes when I go to a gallery it will make like it is loading forever...so it's not loading. My remedy is to press the refresh button a few times, eventually it works and everything is fast. Any ideas?

    Browser?
    Link?
Anything new / odd? Firewall, security software etc changed?

    Thanks!

IE 7 (if you say "Try firefox" I'll bonk you on the head...true Firefox it appears isn't doing it, but I want to use IE...it could also be another difference: I'm not logged in with Firefox but I am with IE). Link...um

    but every gallery does it.

Nothing new or odd...except the new stuff on your end (the whole redesign thing, which I like a lot).

    We don't say that. Ever.
We do *LOVE* Firefox. But we fully support IE6, IE7. You can use any of our supported browsers you like :D

Ok, it was doing the not loading thing again and I noticed the error icon in the lower left corner. I double clicked it and it told me this

can i provide one word of advice.

Unfortunately, IE gives really crappy error messages sometimes...like in this case 'object expected'.

Seriously, if you load firefox/flock and then install firebug, you will get error messages that are much more useful for the development guys.

Either way, the decision is up to u...just making a suggestion.

You would think that after 5 years the IE7 team could come up with something better than that.

IE error messages are the biggest joke ever.

I get it on any page of my website when I'm logged in (not just galleries like I thought earlier)

That specific example came from http://www.davidson.smugmug.com/gallery/2408458

We can't replicate, IE7 or FF. Do you have plugins, blockers, other software from the school involved here?
"quantserve" is not something from SmugMug...

Try it on a pc NOT at school.

    Google sez it's adware.

Try running Spybot and see if it gets rid of it.

Ran spybot and adaware, no joy. I'm going to try going into safe mode and throwing everything I have at it.

Having read their FAQ more closely, I guess I can't really characterise it as adware afterall.

Looking in your page source, it's right there in your footer, big as life, apparently not wrapped in anyone else's code. You didn't put it there?

Did someone from smugmug take it out? Because I don't see it in my footer, plus it doesn't give me the error any more (though I just threw everything I had at my computer too).

Well, I just Ctrl-F5 reloaded your page, and there it is in the source, big as life:

I am getting an error when I try to change photos in the slideshow on a gallery that is protected. The public galleries work fine. Just getting an error on the private, password protected galleries, and it is in IE7. Don't think it is a problem in Firefox. Nope, just checked. Isolated to IE7.

    Well, well....

I see your footer code. I see the lack of scroll bar.
    I'm as confused as you.

I assume IE7 from the skin.

Did you go into the ActiveX and BHO lists in the Advanced mode of SpyBot, and look for things there that might be plugged into your browser and adding this to the page, in much the same way that, say, Greasemonkey lets you do yourself on Firefox?

Hi, can't reproduce on your site in IE7 - please give me direct link to a gallery where you see this please?

Slideshow will not be seen by anyone if the sourse is in a passworded gallery unless
they had previously visited the sourse gallery and entered a password.

You as logged in don't need the password, so you see it.

They work from public and private galleries.

No, but I'm doing another scan in advanced mode now.

But if that is the case, how would that explain your seeing it when you look at my footer code from your computer?

    You're right... it wouldn't.

Note that Advanced mode doesn't affect the *scan*, only the manual tools you can use from the sidebar.

And gee: look. It's on *my* page, too.

Hey, Andy: this looks like it's coming from you guys; ask around, eh?

Oh, I thought I had to scan before I could use the tools...learn something new every day.
