Recomended 'edging' approach for Corel Paint 11?

I would assume that I could edge images (e.g. for assembling a collage) by pasting a black and white image of the edge into the mask layer...

but I'm not sure where I could find the edge masks.

I know there are commercial packages that do this; has anyone ever seen just a collection of the B&W edge masks anywhere?

Are you talking about Paint Shop Pro 11 (PSP) or Photo-Paint 11?

I think what you are looking for are borders and Picture Frames. In PSP-10 they can be found in the Image dropdown menu at the top of the window. I'm not familiar with Photo-Paint but would imagine they are similar.
Here is one using multiple borders. You add the borders to the image, save, then paste into the background. I also added borders to the full image. I use this border a lot so I have it saved as a script. They go on the outside of the existing image, increasing its size, and you must merge all layers so it is the last thing I do

You can change the colors to blend with your background. They are kind of hard to see in this but they are there.

I use multiple Borders a lot but I don't use Picture Frames much. Play with both and see what you like.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

I didn't, actually, quite mean that.

And no, Photo-paint doesn't have any of that stuff built in.

What I'm looking for is more like this sort of thing but I'm not really artistic enough to create the masks.

Hmmm... I didn't see any available plugins specifically for PP and I don't know if Photoshop plugins work in your program like they do in PSP.
I did a quick Google search for PP tutorials on masks and frames. This site has some pretty well done tuts written specifically for PP.

You also might check on the Corel PhotoPaint newsgroup for info and available plugins.
