I got to escape to the Oregon coast this weekend with a couple friends (all moms taking a break from our families :D ). We had spectacular weather...I mean really gorgeous non-winter-like weather! :barb I took a gazillion photos and ended up with just a few that I liked...wish there had been more. I shot manual exposure the whole time, so I'm trying to learn something with all that clicking! Anyway...here are a few of them...

I so want to get up to the Oregon coast. I haven't been up there since I was a kid.
What part of Oregon was this?

These were all taken in Newport, Depoe Bay and Lincoln City...a 25 mile stretch on the central Oregon coast.

    Thanks for the look!

Lincoln City! I remember going there. It made an impression on me because it was a small little surf down and in the middle of summer it was cold, foggy, and raining yet there were people in their wet suits surfing.

    Is it still the same?

Awesome series! I've been to the Oregon coast many times, but I've never had the pleasure of being there during the 'stormy' season. If this is what I have to look forward to then I'm there!

    Thanks for sharing.

Lincoln City has a population of about 7,500 and 7 1/2 miles of great, sandy beaches. There is also a casino and some great outlet malls, so it's a very popular place and probably would look quite different now than it did a number of years ago. However, it could still be considered a small surf town with die-hard surfers! Oregonians don't let a little fog and rain stop them! :D This weekend was gorgeous, with barely a cloud in the sky, hardly any wind and temps around 55, but I wouldn't say that is "normal" for January! Weather on the Oregon coast can be unpredictable all year 'round, but August high temps average about 72.

Oregon coast weather can be unpredictable for sure, with bright, clear and rather warm days in winter and spring and dreary, gray days in summer. But it is a beautiful place, no matter the season.

Thanks for the look and comment!
