Customization of the order confirmation e-mails?

I know the answer to this is no, but... Is there a way to customize the order confirmation e-mails that get sent to my customers when they purchase prints?

Ok, so the answer is no. Can you please add this to your feature list for future features? :)

My biggest beef is the lack of professional tone to the mail. The mail starts with "THE DELIVERY MAN COMETH You shopped. We shipped. And your SmugMug prints are on the way!". While it may be in keeping with the jovial tone of Smugmug, it's not up to the level of professionalism I'm trying to protray through my pro site. Plus, it doesn't look like the mail came from me, and the contact/support e-mail is to smugmug, not to me.

You wouldn't believe the amount of emails we get from folks, who :D and wave.gif and lol3.gif with us on this. It's a good thing. Your customers won't object.

    Request to change, noted though!

I hope to, at one point, in the future, have "custom thank you prints" or something like that for our pros.

I sent my concerns of this matter to 'help' the other day, before I became familiar with this site, but I figured I'd add my two cents here, just to make sure.
With all the superior thinking and design work that's gone into Smugmug thus far (it really is better than sliced bread already!) I was shocked to find that this one important aspect of customization had somehow slid through the cracks. And I'm really hoping its being taken seriously.
I'm not sure what you mean by "custom thank you prints" Andy. I'm looking to appear on the delivery label, receipt, and various other order-related documents. But, at the risk of being out of line here, well, is it not just a matter of adding one customizable field (deliveryname?) to the user profile and then linking it to the appropriate parts of the fulfilment cycle, together with a very slight rewrite of the existing documents to make room for the 'deliveryname' data?

    Xris,

I sent similar comments to Andy after playing around with Smugmug during my trial. While there's enough customization to make the site itself look like my business, the thin veneer falls apart the minute you start the order process. Ideally I'd not only be able to skin the order process the way I want, but I'd also be able to have complete control over the messages that are sent, and the messages would look like they came from me (not Smugmug).

Great comments, guys, thank you very much.
We're talking about it, and it could happen, some mild branding on the packaging... but I have no promise, nor an if/when.

For now, know this: if your customers EVER have a problem, they email us and get white-glove service. Something simple as a lost print, bent package, or better yet, a customer who can't find his pro and wants to reorder :)

    Me too!
I acutally use an inferior lab to do most of my fulfillment because they drop their branding in favor of mine on the packaging and order confirmation emails.

I would prefer to use smugmug, and will if this features gets some play.

Just wanted to register my vote in that direction.

    cheers,

I'm up front with my customers about the prints being provided by Smugmug. I put the guarantee right on my site. When I get my email about the order, I quickly send an email to the customer with a "Thank You" and a reminder about the guarantee and a note to call or email me if they are dissatisfied with anything at all. I let my customers know that I am happy with the product that Smugmug provides and that helps them to have the same confidence.

I just got an email about an order this morning. Luckily I checked my email shortly thereafter and sent my "thank you" note out to my customer within a couple hours of her order. I think that's providing great service.

    Thanks SmugMug! You rock! clap.gif
