Take a look at this unusual landscape from the coast of northeastern Brazil. Sand dunes among which are freshwater lagoons that fill up during the wet season. Makes for great swimming and great photography.

Amazing views! They look almost fake, being so perfectly blue and white with idyllic little cloud shadows.

I think you did a fantastic job composing these.

Yes, they are very real! When I first saw these views, it was hard to believe it was not some sort of mirage. Thanks for your comments. Relatively easy to compose when the subject matter is so extraordinary. If you want to see more, check out my Brazil galleries at www.emsberg,smugmug.com. Elliott

The water was nice and cool, considering how high the air temperature was. Thanks again. Elliott

The place name is Lencois Maranhenses, a national park that takes some effort to get there, but is well worth it. Check out my Brazil gallery under the same name to see more at www.emsberg.smugmug,com.

The Atlantic Ocean with gorgeous beaches and warm water are only a few miles from these lagoons and sand dunes. See more at www.emsberg.smugmug.com. Elliott
