Phyxius & CookieS. have inspired me to put my first post on this forum. I've been processing the many images I took at the Spruce Meadows Masters (Calgary) this year, and thought I'd share this shot:

We'll see if it works!

Well, not what I wanted, but you can get to it.

You've got some nice shots in your albums! I'd love to get up to Spruce Meadows one day. I'm going to World Cup and I've got tickets for the dressage and jumping, it's going to be awesome!

I see Nick Skelton was there with Russel (the grey), I saw them at WIHS when they won the Puissance. :) I didn't have my camera, but my friend Amanda did, I was down infront though, and I wish I had taken mine.
495238076SFtNna_th.jpg You can click on the little picture for a bigger one. This was 2005. Last year McLain Ward won with a height of like 7'3" or something, Nick came in 2nd.

Speaking of McLain Ward, you have a good shot of him on there too. There's a picture of a black horse in the rain sending up quite a splash, wow, that's a lot of water!

And, it looks like poor Joe Fargis was also caught in the rain. He got poured on at the Columbia Classic: That's all rain, not noise.

If you'd like to post images here you click on your "Share Photo" button (on the right side of your screen, above your pictures, next to "Themes" and "Add Photos" when you're logged in). You can choose either e-mail or links for forums etc. Highlight the link for the size you'd like to post here, usually Medium or Large. Then come into your post and either place link here tags like that around the link or click on the little square that looks like a mountain in a yellow background above the text box, and paste the link there.

    :)

*Editted to Add...I just saw your World Cup 05 album! Was it great! I'm so excited. What kind of EXIF do those pictures have? I bought the "cheaper seats" but since I bought for two people it's $300 for all events all days. Oh, it's gonna be fun though! Are you going again this year?

    Hey, Thanks!
Glad you liked the albums. The one I posted was taken with my new Canon 100-400 IS. I was sitting in the stands and that jump was way across the ring. And the SM International ring is a BIG ring! Previous years, I'd used my 70-200 f2.8 with an extender and got some good shots, but I'm happier with the new lens for these kinds of circumstances. If you ever have a chance to go to SM, it's so worth it!

I've got some shots of Nick S & Russel winning the 6bar. It was under the lights so difficult shooting conditions with no flash - I've got to get some more of the shots up on the website & will link the 6 bar shot. Also, thanks for putting that shot up here and I'll get the other links figured out eventually!

And yes, indeedy, I'm headed to the WC in April. My friends and I have tickets for all sessions! That's what's getting me through these 28 degree icy winter days.

Last time we had tickets in the plaza (high plaza) for the jumping, and in the balcony for dressage. I used my 70-200, and even in the balcony got some pretty good shots considering the angle was weird.

Here's the Nick Skelton/Russel shot, winning the 6-bar class. They finished at 2.0 meters (I'm totally metric-challenged, but I think it's 6'-6" or so). Very impressive.
