The markings lead you through the picture as does the "S" curve. If you
could re-take the picture focusing on just one of those, the image might
be more compelling. The split leads me off in two directions.
The contrast between sky and the road surface is very nice as well.
Have you tried to lighten the houses at all? Lightening the center would
even out the exposure.
Lastly, the light poles and perhaps even the houses on the ridge are
distracting. The houses because you can't really see them. The light
poles because they clutter the image.
You are right. Maybe the pic needs a focal point at the end of the road. I removed the poles but lightening the houses causes loss of contrast and reduces detail. Maybe I am not doing it right. Thank you for your helpful comments.
