sorting galleries within subcategories

Is there a way to sort categories and subcategories?
For instance, on my main page I have all my categories listed but I believe smugmug presents them in order of last one modified. The same is true with regard to showing sub-categories within a category and galleries within a sub-category. How can I control how they are presented? Can I set it to always sort in a certain way (like you can with photos in a gallery) so when I create a new category, subcategory or gallery it is automatically displayed in the 'proper' position?
There don't seem to be any options for this (or I've somehow disabled the options in my scripting).
Any help would be appreciated.
