B&H Question

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with B&H and this situation.

I bought my XTi with kit lens from B&H on Thursday for $774. I was browsing their stuff today and saw the exact same item selling for $725. I shot off an email to them asking if there was any way I could get a refund for teh difference, since I haven't even received the camera yet. Any idea if this will fly with them, or are they more of a hard nosed outfit than that?

I'm guessing they will honor the new price... They are a stand up outfit. I'll be sure that Henry sees this post, too :)

Henry is the owner of BH and a frequent poster here. A friend of Dgrin as well......
It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

Ahh, ok. Thanks for the clarification! Like I told my wife earlier, I'll understand if they can't do anything, but it makes me want to kick myself for not waiting 2 days! Lol...

I think Henry would like to be the owner, but alas, he is not the owner.

I like B&H. They have a great website.
I got my 50mm f/1.4 from them and a couple smaller items.

Henry, I need the Sigma EF-500 DG ST P-TTL for pentax
ASAP. Will you be getting any in soon? :)

Seem like once I decide on what to get from B&H it ends up being out of stock.

I waited weeks for that 50mm f/1.4 to come back in stock, but it was worth the wait.

On payday I wouldn't mind a bit. OTOH, he wakes up every morning knowing that a wrong decision could mean the employment of 1,000+ people. I sleep like a baby.

And, to the original poster -- your refund will be issued to the credit card account you used to make the purchase.

BTW, Andy's been meaning to tell you that a white background is a bad choice for your product shots. deal.gif

    Is there anyone but B&H?
I have been a loyal customer of B&H for 14-15 yrs. From the beginning they have been great, and have always taken care of me and my orders.

    Thankyou ! HenryP

You have done a great job , keep up the good work !
Im waiting for the BIG day , when I walk through B&H doors, and spend the day shopping in person.

They're great to do business with! Even if you do have to wait for the product to come in, you can be sure that you're getting what you expect.

The "notify me" feature for items that aren't in stock works well. I've used it a few times and really liked that I got an email as soon as something was back in stock, instead of having to keep checking the website or (worse, IMO) give them my credit card number to order and not really know when I would be billed.

I also like that they have my "order history" going back several years (from my first online order with them, I think). It's convenient when I'm away from home to be able to pull it up to have an equipment inventory (I've rarely ordered from anywhere else, so it's pretty complete for me).

I've called to ask questions about products or stock and once had to change shipping on an order (can you imagine the hassle this was for them?!?) because of an unexpected out-of-town trip and they've always been honest, responsive, and professional. And incredibly helpful!

i can't imagine buying any where else-

told a friend b&h; he went elsewhere-

they jacked him around, told him stuff wasn't in stock but they could send him something else-

    he bought from b&h-

    the moral of the story?-
