    How's the sharpness on this copy? I've got a serious interest in upgrading from my 50 f/1.8.

    I've had three and they have all been about the same. At 1.4, their's slight softness, being less noticable at 1.8. From 2.0 up its quite sharp. I typically use it for lowlight stuff as well as with studio lights (f8). The 1.4 has slightly better AF and better build QTY.
