jpeg fr RAW and redo...
jpeg from RAW, nothing done to it. I shot it yesterday at about -2/3. I walked up, got one shot off, before the bird flew off. Good thing I had adjusted all settings in the car. Luck that the camera was focused, so it fired. I just kind of "prayed".
That area is shaded and sunny. I didn't know what I was going to get. Had a memory that Harry said to underexpose, so I picked -2/3. I guess I will pick -1 next time. But I thought some of the blown spots last night might have been from processing, so I wanted to show it without any processing, then I redid it. I use levels, saturation, then I sharpened it. Last night I did a bit more, wondered at the time what to do about the white areas and whether I was blowing them. ginger

The redo is below, any suggestions?

This one is a redo, also. It was more contrasty, I tried not to exacerbate the situation. Last night I was concerned about the dark parts, this AM, I was concerned not to totally lose the light parts. Suggestions?
