I've heard good things about this lens and have had my eye out for one. If you have one or used one. Do you recommend it ? Do you think $ 200.00 is a decent price for one in good shape?

It does look like the MK II is the one to go for. At wide-open apertures they should be similar, but the 7 bladed MK II is going to look better stopped down.

I think the 28-105mm is a (small) step above the 28-135mm in terms of overall performance (disregarding the IS difference), but it's not an "L" lens, so it can't compare to the 24-105mm, f4L, but it's a pretty sweet lens for the money, and it works well on both FF and crop cameras.

$200 USD is probably not too much, but you can probably also find one for a bit less as well.

    Thanks Ziggy,
I was under the impression from the review I linked the original 28-105 with the Macro printing not the flower was the one to get. After reading the review and your post are you saying the Mark II is basically the same lens. Both are 7 blade. Little over $200.00 new. Might just wait and buy a L lens.
    Thanks again for your reply
