OK, Here's the deal. We are reframing all of our art thats on the walls, and adding new peices here at work.

I have very distinct taste in framing. I like Black frames with White mats. We have some wood and some black frames so we will hopfully be painting all of the frames black. But the problem is with the matting. I like white but some people think we should use a mat that matches are walls better. Our walls are a very light beige color (To me they look dirty).

Here are the choices. I need some opinions on what will look best prior to me ordering this matting.

White Glove

White Wash

White Elephant

I'm of course doing all the mat cutting myself so I'm ordering the matt in bulk so whatever color I decide is the color we are sticking with. Which would you guys preffer with color prints and a black frame on a off white wall?

Do you have a sample of these materials? If not..might get samples...then ask the folks at work...then pick what YOU like. :D It is difficult to pick a mat from online samples. They usually look a whole lot different in person, not to mention the texture can be subtle or dramatic, but won't show in pics.

I may have to do that. Imma try using my frames action in photoshop first to create samples to prove white is the best..

You can always go to a local store and buy a 5" x 7" mat in both white and off white/cream..and frame it up to show the "non visual" types what the "actual" frame will look like.

I would use whichever is most different from the wall. Otherwise it will look like frames floating around the images.
