taxes-in what year does SM report my income?

Okay, here's the story. I've been earning money on Smugmug since November of 2006. But I didn't file my tax form until this week, and just got confirmation today. So, of course, I haven't yet received a check from SmugMug. For tax purposes I need to know, in what year are my 2006 earnings reported by SM? In the year they cut me the check, or in the year I made the sales?

    If we didn't have a W-9 for you for 2006, then no earnings were reported. Your earnings will be reported for 2007 now that your W-9 is on file with us. And only if you have earnings of $600 or more.
