I just got my new flash and I am looking forward to learning how to use it.
I would love to get some great close up portraits of my son. He is 11 years old and at times love to model for me. There is no school Friday and I have the day off of work so we will get to spend the day together.
It's cold outside so I will have to do the photos inside. I have no idea of what kind of poses to do. I do not have a backdrop to use.
How do I have him pose? Should I have him doing something like reading a book or looking right at the camera lens?
I am looking for some idea's on how to set it up with what I have.
Guess I am looking at using my 50mm f/1.4, Sigma Flash and tripod.
Thanks..

I'd play with shadow, and natural light. The only problem is that if there's not a lot of light, your shutter speeds will be very slow.
