Finally a free moment to post some of the images taken last weekend at Salton Sea alongside Kdog, Dallas and Angelo. Sorry Harry, no butt shots in this set, but I'll see what I can dig up from the archives for your thread.

Here's the burrowing owl shot I promised you William

It's always a challenge for one to part with a warm bed to catch the sunrise, but this was really worth the effort

Snowgeese taking flight

What goes up must come down

129667400-O.jpg

Wigeons, Mallards, Saeguls, Terns, etc. were also well represented
129667428-O.jpg

I've never before seen so many Pelicans assembled in one location (notice also two enthusiastic photographers in the background)
129667407-O.jpg

Up close and intimate (would this qualify as a butt shot Harry?...of the pelicans I mean)

I assume this is the kind of shot Kdog and Dallas might have gotten of these Pelicans.

Thanks for viewing, more to come.

Ohhhhhhhhh Boy oh Boy, you guys must have been besides yourselves with absolute joy and rapture to see so many different birds, and especially all those Pelicans all in one place, gawwwwwwd how awesome that must have been to see with your own eyes clap.gifclap.gif

Those geese in flight (the closer ones) are my favourite, I can't get over the amount of Pelicans there, no matter how many times I look at those shots, I'm still amazed.

What an excellent series ..... thanks for sharing....... Skippy

Nice series with good variety, Russ. thumb.gif Those burrowing owls are pretty cool birds. Saw them at the MI4 shoot down in Cape Coral, FL. Very animated birds. The white pelicans are also very nice. Finally got some pics of these guys this year. Well done.

Outstanding set Russ. All would look good on a wall. clap.gif It would have been perfect if you had just one butt shot in there. mwink.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Very nice shots, Russ. I especially like that tight shot of the pair of pelicans in close formation. I think you guys have set up the Salton Sea for a regular outing. No one will go to Bosque any more....

Believe me Skippy, it was an awesome experience witnessing all these Pelicans in one location. The sound produced by all those wings moving air around simultaneously also adds a lot to the visual experience.
    Thanks for your kind comments.
