I have seen some really nice albums, and wondered , what software is being used to do this.
I would like to know if the Aperature software , to make photo album books , is a good one to use.

Also the quality of the books when odered through the aperature program.

Thank you
Thankyou

Pamela

I've never had one in my hands, but I know iPhoto (included with MacOSX) has an easy photo book feature. Or at least its advertised as such.

iPhoto is indeed very easy to design these books with. Typical Apple software: does more than it should, an so intuitive you wonder why other software houses just can't learn to do the same thing. But, you have limited choice of sizes and only canvas covers.

Another place I know of, www.heritagemakers.com, has you design the books over the web. I do not know how easy they are to use but personally I don't want to design over the web.

Some publishing houses, like www.asukabook.com, give you Photoshop templates and you design in Photoshop. Here you have complete control over what goes on the page.

That's three choices I know of, from easy to moderate to more difficult. As difficulty rises so do choices and freedom.

Blurb.com gets good press for its custom one-off book printing also.

Its books come with a dust jacket also.

I did a book through iPhoto recently - I liked its quality a lot.

Blurb.com offers more pages and cheaper prices than iPhoto and will do more pages per book, I believe. WHen I get the time I plan to give Blurb.com a try, as I have several concepts I want to explore in hardback book format. I think Blurb will even let you offer your creations for sale also.

Just Google 'royalty free music' and you'll find lots of it.

I tried several book companies and like the results I got from Blurb the best!
