Is this a Meadowlark?

I have been seeing flocks of these birds hanging out in the tall grasses near cattle and small ponds. They are very skittish so I was surprised to even get this shot. They are pretty birds though so I am glad I was able to.

A bif of a meadowlark? Now that is difficult. I don't know about their behavior elsewhere but around here they hide in the tall grass and then jump up at about the speed of sound like a pheasant. Before you can get your camera to your face, they are gone! Thanks for looking. :D
