Chasmanthe in Montara (for the flower starved)
This is my favorite Chasmanthe patch. Here is the address, Third and Farallone. Third street is a main drag with either cars and trucks every few seconds or runners, joggers or dog walkers. Everyone slows down and looks at you taking pictures, but no confrontations :-)
Here's the street sign and the Chasmanthe bushes. This was unusual for me because at our old house we only had the orange red blooms, so when I discovered yellow as well I was quite pleased.
Here is a red "bud"
And a yellow "bud"
A red flower stalk close up
And a yellow stalk in full bloom
I was here late afternoon and I'd have better exposure probably earlier in the day.
Enjoy discovering Chasmanthe.

I found a patch of red blooms near our library in town... but no yellow ones.
