Very nice shots! The only thing you might could do different next time is it looks like they could use a little bit of Exposire Compensation to make sure you don't blow out the white of the birds. At least that was Harry's advice to me when I went shooting in Florida last year!

Thank you everyone, i had my exposure set at -03, but bright FL sun still gets me. If i try anything more then that, then pictures coming out dark. I don't know, i have to use PS a lot. headscratch.gif

Keep it coming. I really like the two bird BIF. The one right above it is very nice as well except for those darned backgrounds not playing nice. I can't tell you how many times my background gets hosed!

You have to realize that the white birds are much much brighter than the backgrounds, so you must expose for them instead of the backgrounds. With a -2/3 EC or greater you will expose the bird correctly but the backgrounds will be dark. That is just a fact of life so embrase it. The lighting on these shots seems pretty harsh, what time of day were you shooting? The best times are the hour after sunrise and hour before sunset. The light will be much sweeter then. It will help get rid of the harsh shadows and can make exposure easier. Keep shooting and you'll get the hang of it in no time.

    check thisout.

If you want to save the higlights you will have to sacrifice the background but that's OK. You want your viewer's attention on the subject and that's the bird not the background.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Looking good! Nice bifs! clap.gif You might try shooting a little earlier, or a little later in the day. The sun isn't quite as harsh and your shadows will be a little softer.
