um...question about the battery grip...

I know this is probably one of the stupidest question, but I can't find the answer!

If I bought the Canon BG-E2 Battery Grip, which has room for 2 batteries....do the batteries come with it? or is it just a shell of a grip?

I own the grip by Opteka for my XTi, and absolutely love it.

When you do get the grip do two things: 1) hide the useless AA tray--they don;t last long enough to be worth the effort, and 2) go visit http://www.sterlingtek.com for better than OEM batteries at 25% of the price.
