Toddler And Dandelions
Spent a great Sunday with my sister and her grandson at the park picking dandelions. :lust
I meant to enter one of these in the challenge, but got busy and missed the deadline. Comments welcome!!! I can never decide which I like best between color and toned black and white! All shot with the 85 f/1.8.

happy day,
wren
PS--I have not tasted dandelion, but I have had uh..nur...nor...that 'stertium flower in a salad!
I also like the 3rd one but think maybe it could benefit from some cropping- too much negative space for me.
Fourth one has the right arm too blown out and the dandelion is lost in his hand.
Good job- as usual!

Very cute.
Thank you for your comments and pointers. I didn't spend any time cropping these...shot for my niece and I leave it up to her for cropping. I have to admit, I have a personal preference for some breathing room at times...either crop really tight or give me space!!! He just looked so little out in the big wide open spaces I wanted to capture some of that feeling and at the same time capture his expressions. #4 is blown by the PS action I used...I didn't catch that at the time. It's a pretty contrasty action. I may attempt another pass on that one. The dandy is pretty much gone by this shot and he was still trying to figure it out!
I do think if you could clone out the word "construction" on his shirt in this one, it would improve the shot.

Wait, isn't #1 a crop from #2? Or am I losing it here?
I like both 1 and 2. There is something strange about the light (or PP?) on the adult arm in #2 that distracts me. It seems too dark compared to the hand. Might have been a shadow due to the angle, but it almost makes it look like the hand is wearing a rubber glove. Since it's a really good capture, you might want to tweak it a bit to reduce the difference.
Regards,
That was my reaction too. If you translate the Swedish name for them back to English you get Wormrose. :puke

Good idea about cloning out "construction"...I hadn't considered that. Thanks, Lynne!
Yes, Richard #1 is a crop of #2. I will take a look at the arm in #2. Part of it was the shadow and the angle of the hand towards the light. I should never do work like this late at night, but then when am I going to do it???

This is #3-30 sec in PS
and this is #1 with a different crop-the original composition created an uncomfortable balance to me and this felt better though I do think it shifts the emphasis
this is just for disc sake-- just went back thru some of the dgrin links re: composition .................. mereimage
