I was getting ready for a boat safety class that I teach, when the boredom monster got me. Thought I'd change my latest Vette Wallpaper.

Original -

After 15 minutes -

2449720-M.jpg

This was a bmp file to start with. I made the changes in PS so it became a psd file. I then saved it as a jpeg. During the conversion to jpeg, the background became much darker, and portions of the car also turned black.

Interesting.

Like I said, I was bored!

Hutch

Hey Patch, I screwed up. This should be in Photoshop Shenanigans. Can you move it?

Hutch

It's even worse!

What am I going to do!??????????????????

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I'm working on it man. Gotta have all the pieces fall in place to make it to Spokane followed by Ouray. Dunno if it's gonna happen, but I'll settle for one anyway.

    Fish,
I'm going to try to be in Spokane, depending on work. It happens to hit me at a busy time. We are leaving for the Cont. Divide the following week also. Not sure how much MC ridin' Hutchwife will tolerate!

I've been goofing around with that vette...how did you select just the car and not the background? I've been having a helluva time with all the different shades.

I used the Extract tool (under the Filter menu) to get most of the way. I then went back and touched up things by hand.

To make life easier here is a jpeg to help select the Vette:

    2485224-M.jpg

This file should help you make your selection. Your next challenge is using this file to help make a selection in the original file :D

    Cletus,

I get wood sometimes, just not on a Vette!

It looks to me like this Photoshop disease is spreading.

I'm not sure about that...photoshop CS costs more than my 70-200/4L zoom lens. PE2 works just fine for everything I need to do so far.
