Here is another from Wakodahatchee Wetlands. This guy was sitting on his nest but we never saw a mate. If you look closely you can see a light blue egg near his feet that I only noticed when I was processing the shot. The nest was very close to the boardwalk and this was taken at 170mm. The only downside is trying to keep the boardwalk out of the frame in the background. This guy had some real character and I'll post a close up later on.

Well the "hair" got him a mate so it it can't be all that bad.

No I didn't imagine it, here, I blew it up for you. I didn't notice it either until I had it blown up to 100%

Interesting shots Nick, with the first one he (she?) seems to really have contorted the neck into a serious kink I must admit I didn't see that egg either until you pointed it out in your last shot

if you don't mind, i believe here's another of the same bird...I had a great time walking around that place....



I had only a few hours to spend, but for us northerners, it's ridiculous how close you can get...

Hey Keith, so I guess it's always windy there. Or maybe he is really just a statue to amuse the tourists .
