Avebury Rock

Beth, William and I took a trip out to Stonehenge by way of Avebury a couple weeks ago. This is one of the shots that I got from Avebury. I must say, all in all, I thought that Avebury was much cooler than Stonehenge. Stonehenge is much smaller than I thought it would be and really not that exciting. Avebury is apparently 4 times larger and dates older than the oldest parts of Stonehenge. Plus you can get right up next to the stones at Avebury and you don't have to deal with a boatload of tourists.

Anyhow, here's the shot I got. Any C&C welcomed!

    Hello Mike,

That sounds like a pleasant trip, made even better by your discovery of how to avoid the throngs of tourists, heh.

I like how the background works in your shot....the brilliant sky with lots of wispy clouds, then the bright grass, and, as your eye gets closer to the focus of the picture (and the bottom), I like how the grass gets darker, and the shadows come into play.

    happy day,
