This past weekend, Carnival was in full swing in Madrid. While not as flamboyant as Rio or Mardi Gras in New Orleans, it was still colorful. Here are a few taken during the main events.

It looks like a fun place, and a wonderful opportunity for photos. I don't know if this sort of lovely costuming is normal and everyday for you Europeans, but it makes my heart go pitter-patter :)

Thanks tlee and schmooo. The costumes are hardly normal or everyday wear, but we do have a good time.

These are great, I like the coloured shots, but that Black and white shot image No #4 is my favourite clap.gif you would have seen some very interesting characters walking around the Mardi Gras.... lucky you :D

Nice set Richard, I'm not normally too fond of BW, but the two in this set are super!

Al, Cristian and Dalantech: thanks for your comments.

Given all the color, I'm a little surprised that the B&W shots seem to be getting so much attention. Must be a photographer thing...on my Smugmug site the stats consistently show color shots getting at least twice as many hits as B&W. ne_nau.gif
