A dash of sepia...

I took these shots one evening while experiementing with lighting for one of my photo classes... They had a bit of a red cast, which I corrected, and added 50% sepia... In regards to lighting, these are all "Portrait" lighting shots, I didn't like the others much... How do they work?

UPDATE: Fixed the watermark... Much happier...

uh, hard to tell, because your watermark is as distractingly huge as it is undreadable.

I have to be honest....I am not a huge fan of the angled shots. IMO they are done waaay too much these days. Other than that tho, I like the lighting and sepia tone. The feel of it is great. You did a good job of pulling forth the fella's playful personality. Lastly...holy cow....could you make your watermark any bigger? While I fully appreciate the need for it, size wise it is a bit....much.
I use only Canon cameras and glass

I suppose I could... But if I did, it wouldn't all fit on the pictures...

    I'll try though... mwink.gif

So which, smaller or faded more?

I like this one a lot, except for the light on the guitar, it's distracting.

And I like the lighting a lot on this one, very atmospheric. It's his expression that's not working for me, and the headroom.

The lighting and 50% sepia seem to work really well in all of these for me except for a few shadows. #1, 3 & 4 seem to bring out your subjects character the best (unless he really is as dopey as he looks in #2). Perhaps you could dodge up the area under the hat in #3 as the hat shadow on his eyes takes away from the impact of the photo. His expression in #5 is lost to the hat shadow too, and the light coloured ceiling is distracting. I'll second the note about the reflection of your softbox/whatever making the white area on the guitar in #4. Can you clone it out? Tricky I suppose.
Please feel free to retouch and repost my images. Critique, Suggestions, and Technique tips always welcomed. Thanks for your interest.
