Hi folks,

It's been an interesting winter here in Oregon this year - not much snow or precip on the east side of the mountains. I've tried to take advantage of the weather and get out on some short trips around the state. Here are a couple photos I've taken on these short excursions.

Photo 1 - Lower part of Multnomah Falls (taken on a rainy, windy day!)

Photo 2 - hoarfrost on Ponderosa pine trees - Santiam Pass

Both shots are very nice but the second is my choice.

Both of them leave me wanting to see more.

    1. More of the falls- all the way to the top. I think you could crop a bit off both the left and right sides on this one too.

    2. Want to see the tree tops and not the patch of orange in the bottom right.

    Nice shots! thumb.gif

    re: Oregon photos
    Hi,

Thanks for the comments - really appreciate it. I took a couple photos of the top of the falls, too, and will add a one to this post. The day was a crummy one as far as weather goes, but it also brought out the greens of the vegetation.

Thanks again for the comments on the photos, and here is another photo of the pine trees with hoarfrost - more vertical composition.

The second one really speaks to me also - not that I don't like Multnomah falls thumb.gif The whole Historic Columbia River Highway is a great drive, and if you've got the time to hike a tiny bit there's smaller, but much more interesting and less crowded falls right near there. My parents have a place 20min from Multnomah falls in North Bonneville, so they're basically on the other side of the river :D

    re: other falls
Thanks for the comments, appreciate it. Actually, I did get to one or two other falls and was able to get a few photos before the weather took a very nasty turn - wind started blowing around 30-40 mph, heavy rain, etc. I decided to spare my camera (and my 50 yr old body), and will go back another day when I can hike the trails in better weather. :D
