Think I've finally nailed the proper color/wb for hockey...very tough sport to photograph!

Yessssssssssss...thats it! Great white balance. I dunno why its so hard - half my shots on ice are nice and half are green...you did a great adjustment.

Nice win last night by my boy Wes...I literally fell off my seat onto the floor when he scored the goal in OT...it was almost a shock to my eyes to see the beauty of that play developed and executed. wings.gif

Thanks! clap.gif After figuring out the nearly correct temperature while post-processing the other nite I found that being able to preset the temp this time around allowed me to nail the WB in PP last nite. Nothing was lost.

Are you shooting raw? What temp are you using? Some EV comp in PP with raw and the right temp makes a huge difference!

Great game as well! Very hard hitting last nite!

    nice photos

now just don't go to any other rinks, or you will have to start all over again :)

:D I never assume settings carry over for any sport tho...those are just the "Hurricanes" baseline for me now. The canes are particularly hard with all the red on white ice...

    Charles,
I just received a camera that can shoot RAW so I haven't done it yet. My subjects are three precious kiddies making memories for themselves in an ice rink - I get onto the ice with them to help steady my youngest and hold the camera with my free hand and snap away.

I'll try the color temp next time and RAW and see if I can get the consistency I am looking for. Thanks for the perspective of dialing it in close while shooting - it makes a lot of sense.

Thanks! It was a UNC vs ECU shootout in between periods. I think it was UNC 2, ECU 1...final score. Heavy bias against UNC in the crowd. rolleyes1.gif
