Any Tips on using a monopod?

quick background, I am traveling around South america and it is "hard" to find equipment. I probably should have bought a tripod but i bought a monopod instead and i am now worried about getting "tack sharp" landscape and city scenes in lower light (or any light conditions). any advice would be greatly appreciated :thumb

A good tight grip on camera and a snug fit to face....bi-podded people with good tight fit to camera on mono pod = tripod of sorts...just don't stand with feet to close together, tuck elbows in tight to body for more stability....practice before going out to use it and to be familiar with how it feels and works for you.....
