BLIZZARD WARNING: Snow is expected to begin falling this afternoon, becoming very heavy this evening. Strong winds will cause drifting and whiteout conditions from Boston to Worcester. Forecasters predict accumulations of 20-30 inches. dingbat_arrow_sm_icon.gifForecasts

Anyone want to join me for a photo walk through Davis Sq, Somervile on Sunday?

    Sounds great~
A walk to get sounds great, but unfortunately I think I will be snowed in here in Vermont as we are expected to get our share of snow, not quite what predicted in Boston, but still 8-14 inches, so I hope I can get out and snaps some shots in the next couple of days.. Enjoy the snow, stay warm... The wind is suppose to be killer there also....

I like the first one that your friend took, Lynn. And the thing that makes me sick is that I might have passed up taking it because the snow was "ruined" with footprints.

I have wondered, though, about copying as a learning tool. Besides there are only so many photos that can be taken of the same place, given the same conditions of lighting, etc. Which one hardly ever gets.

Sometimes when Andy posts examples for a Challenge, I am tempted, or think about, going and finding something as close a possible and try to get the same effect. The old masters used to learn painting that way, didn't they?

Well, I think it would be fun to find a book or something by someone in your/my area, trying to emulate his (because I know who here) shots.

    Just thinking,

Where ever you all are, remember to start a fire on Monday. (For the Challenge, anything for the Challenge)

Nice shots! Perhaps my only decent snow shots to date are the shot of the snowfall in Kamagaya, Chiba Prefecture Japan and some goofing around in Waltham at a stomping ground where Rutt, Jimf and I have all hung at.

I am looking forward to a walk in the snow on Sunday, If I have the courage I'll go out tonight and play in the snow and the dark.
