Went back home to see my family this weekend and found this old farm house still standing. There was once a larger house as well but it has been torn down to make way for growth. This little building is still standing though and is now trying to be saved by the historical society.

What a cute little place! I love #2: the tone of the sky is ominous and the grey compliments the brown of the earth and tree very nicely. Very midwestern - makes me think of wheat threshers and tornados and Dorothy. ;)

Is the slant on that one intent? It looks like the side of the house is parallel to the edge of the photo, rather than the front of it. But looking at the horizon it looks even so I'm not even sure a slant is there. eek7.gif

i'm really digging the color in #2 as well.

i'd like to see a little seperation between the tree and house, but that's just me.

Digging the third one. I really like the color saturation in the ground, and the way the shadow is simplifying the tree into its core shapes.

Good inspiration, I just found some abandoned farm houses and barns that I wanted to do some shooting in.

    Thanks- Schmoo

Well it is a long way from the midwest being here in the Southwest and can't remember the last time there was atornado.

The slant was intentional on this one. I shot proabably 50 photos of this place from almost every angle I could think of.

Hopefully it will not get knocked down so I can shoot it some more hopefuly with a little better sky.

    Thanks Tyler-

I liked the shadows and the sun burst on this shot. When I can afford the 7-14 lense I will be able to shoot it as I wanted to.

Look forward to seeing your shots- I really like abandoned and run down buildings and equipment.
