Very Pretty, the left side maybe could be cropped a bit but lovely bird and great clarity.

    I don't know Randy
but looks to me like you have a great eyeclap.gif. Nice shot. Always enjoy your images! Love the concept of black on the left upper and orange all around...but the viewer's eye is totally drawn to the the eye of the bird. Excellent choice and composition. Thanks for sharing....really cool idea! Keep up the great work (as of course you will).

The eye is "bullseyed" and I'm a bit distracted by the fact that I initially focus there, and then am drawn to the dark area, and the feathers in the background, and I wander around the frame.

When I was on the Antarctic trip last week I saw an image from Seth Resnick when he talked about getting close. He took a closeup of something, it was cropped about like this:

    132864260-O.jpg

Which I prefer as the crop of your photo. Though the advice was to get closer (for a bird, this would mean a longer lens, as they tend to not allow you to get that close). This crop is just a bit tight, but the key is to have no "space" behind the head. He says to avoid "triangles" in the corners of your frames, as they indicate you didn't get close enough.

Is that close to a true colour? or did you tweak it to be that colour headscratch.gif

Strong picture! I would crop just left from the neck to the right edge of the frame. The edge of the neck make the Flamingo more obvious. Just my $0.02

    Thanks for sharing.
