I just finished watching the movie, Flags of our Fathers. A story behind the Iwo Jima flag raising. Powerful stuff. Also during the credits you see one image after another taken that day. Powerful images that depict the battle.

Sad story about most of those involved. Be prepared to be moved. I sure was. Also learned alot.
"A photo is like a hamburger. You can get one from McDonalds for $1, one from Chili's for $5, or one from Ruth's Chris for $15. You usually get what you pay for, but don't expect a Ruth's Chris burger at a McDonalds price, if you want that, go cook it yourself." - me

I also recommend the companion film also made by Eastwood, called "Letters from Iwo Jima."

It's from the Japanese perspective, and is filled with Eastwood's ambivalence towards war and traditional concepts of heroism.

Clicked on your footer link. Foghorn Leghorn is a favorite from my cartoon days. I miss the classic cartoons.
