slow smugmug... message on the bottom:

Transferring data from pixel.quantserve.com...

If the message is there long enough for me to read it, it is too long.

Maybe you should toss the quantserve stuff??? :dunno

And this happens.. all the time, some of the time, once? Some more details would be very helpful for us!

    I don't experience that behavior.

    I don't experience that behavior.

varying amounts of time when moving around my site... I just clicked on my site, it displays the home page fine... but the combination hourglass/pointer hangs on... I look at the bottom and see the pixel.quantserve message. Took 18 seconds (longest so far) just now.

seems to do it most when I click on "your photos"...

Doing it in FF, don't see it in IE. I can interrupt it apparently, the pointer will let me click on a thumbnail even though the pointer has an hourglass with it.

Maybe it is FF 2.0 showing stuff that is normally hidden? I guess not really impacting, but seeing the hourglass makes me think the page is still loading..

I'm digging up this thread because it doesn't appear to have been resolved back when reported and I have a bit of additional info.

In Firefox 3.5.5, the browser spins its wheels and appears to not be loading fully. No gallery images load, and the 'loading' animation is continuous.

If you click the cancel button after letting it load for several seconds (10+), then the request for the image is ended, and the rest of the page loads fine, including all gallery images. If you cancel it too soon, no images will show.

The strange bit is it only hangs on the gallery initial load, when no specific image ID is in the URL. Here's the URL of the request that fails:
    http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel;r=1042352329;fpan=0;fpa=P0-319978544-1251721855905;ns=0;url=http%3A%2F%2Fphotos.bnkrazy.com%2FPortraits%2FRamseys%2F10316774_mCQtn;ref=;ce=1;je=1;sr=1680x1050x32;dg=P7717-W-FF-3;dst=1;et=1258559850487;tzo=300;a=p-33GsugQTR-pOM

And later, after hitting cancel and letting the page finish loading, this URL works fine:
    http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel;r=90038751;fpan=0;fpa=P0-319978544-1251721855905;ns=0;url=http%3A%2F%2Fphotos.bnkrazy.com%2FPortraits%2FRamseys%2F10316774_mCQtn%23713022593_Pk7Aq;ref=;ce=1;je=1;sr=1680x1050x32;dg=P7717-W-FF-3;dst=1;et=1258559951510;tzo=300;a=p-33GsugQTR-pOM

Oddly, if I simply click the first link above in FF, it loads fine.

This behavior also only happens when I'm logged out using FF. If I'm logged in, it works and loads fine.

I've been testing this all morning and the behavior is repeatable.

IE works fine. This only happens in FF.

Any ideas? This effectively makes all my galleries look empty for firefox users.

Clear your FF cache and try again.

IF that fails, what addons are you running in Firefox? ear.gif

Clearing the cache appears to have fixed the issue.

I'm a web developer though, so my cache is cleared all the time, which is why I didn't try that earlier. ne_nau.gif I'll let you know if it comes back. Thanks!
