Another addition for my recent series of the advocation of sobriety.

Just for a little reference, the first two photos were artistic renditions of real "party" photos from people I actually know. I would post those if I could, but it would just cause chaos. Those may be more personal, but I want to share.

The other two are completely open to interpretation.

I worked hard on make-up on these too.
I'm trying to learn.

Gritty, brooding, and most of all, a very good and effective set. thumb.gif

I loved the progression of the tones and colors between each sequence implying a change of state of mind, until it returns to a semi-normal setting at the finish, implying the sobriety. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing

Great set. The tone of the photos are gritty, sad and somber, in contrast to the "partying" your subjects think they are doing. To me, it highlights the difference between reality and their perceived reality. I also think these photos get a point across more than any of the other sets you've posted. Nice work.

Thanks. I am glad for once, the perceived message is apparent.

Number 2 is chilling - and very well done techniclly. Number 3's make-up and message of abuse are outstanding.

Very well done! I'm particularly drawn (?!?) to #2. I love the framing. Great treatment on all - very gritty. Well done!thumb.gif

Cody, great style on those! It's very refreshing to see something out of the ordinary like your stuff.

Now, regarding the pictures themselves, I'm partial to #1 and especially #2 for the framing, which was excellent... but at the same time #3 and #5 are cool because of the dark message you convey with them.

All of your shots really have something going for them. Great work!

Thanks for sharing these with us!

Even though your themes are darker than I normally go for, your pictures tend to stay in my mind when I see them and your talent shines through. So as I was listening to the www.studiolighting.net podcast, this week's guest reminded me of your work. So I thought I'd post the link for you in case you hadn't seen his work or heard the podcast. His name is Gray Scott, http://www.grayscott.com.
