Just a few more kestrels

My kestrels just don't do anything for me. I can't get them perched in a tree, eating some prey, nothing! They just sit on power lines or telephone cables and look over their domain. Oh well, I shot these with a bit higher of an ISO to brighten up the shot and so I finally have some kestrels where you can see their eyes a bit better.

I really hate the perch on this one, but I like the kestrel. I need to photoshop out the aparatus on the left.

Kestrels ain't an easy catch. I've been lucky once or twice but they are hard to approach. I'll take them with the power lines.

I had the same problem down here with our raptors, for a good while you could only find them perched on power poles.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Well done!
Kestrels are really beautiful birds. They are too small and too shy to get a decent shot from yem. You have to be really lucky. Patience is the key to success!

    Thanks for sharing,

    Dick.

    PS.
I needed 400mm for this shot plus a mega crop plus a lot of patience!

Thanks Dick. Cool Kestrel shot you have there. I looked at the rest of the gallery. You certainly have some nice birds of prey there. thumb.gif
