NC NX 1.1 (intel Mac supported)

I JUST got my new intel Macbook and have downloaded NX AND the update that supports the intel chip...I've got the 2GHz black one with 2 GB RAM and 160GB HD.
Is anyone else using this sort of setup yet to work with NEF? what sort of place does it have in your workflow? I'm a beginner grinner shooting RAW almost all the time now, and I've definitely outgrown Nikon Picture Project, but there's no way I'm ready for PS. Is this a solution for my PP until I get comfortable with it, and then I can add CS3? I intend for now to do simply photography, not any real graphic design
Or is it not worth the money at all? (28 days left on the trial) AFAIK Nikon just came out with the support for the intel chips in the macs, so I think this is a new question. Furthermore, there's no way I'll be able to comfortable enough with the program in 28 days to see if it's worth $150, so if anyone has input (i.e. I've heard there is no better RAW convertor for NEF) I'd love to hear it.
Cheers, and thanks all.
