well this is my first post in this thread. I normally do wildlife but living in naples florida we have spring trainning baseball going on so I took my camera with and I think I got some nice images this is one of dodgers first basemen #5 Nomar Garciaparra.

    Hey Paul!

    Well, since it's a sports forum I look at this like I would any other sports post (i.e. not a fan site - so no extra credit for it being a major leaguer :D ):

    The image is a bit soft IMO and thus not a very effective portrait shot of a ball player. Also the shadow makes the eyes difficult to see - which again, takes away from the impact of a sports portrait.

    So, if you're a fan of Nomar, it's a nice snapshot - but as a sports shot the softness, lack of action and shadows keep it from being effective IMO.

    Nice shot! But as you say, the eyes are a bit dark. A bit of post maybe?

    now that is a great shot. Of course I am a little biased and Nomar is a former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket. Nomar was named after his Dad (in reverse) his Dad was Ramon.
